Week of March 2 – 8

Nod to Canada “Bocce on Ice”
Week of March 2 – 8, 4:30 – 6:30 p.m. | 7 – 9 p.m. (times may vary as Bocce on Ice is available beyond O Canada – O Toledo! Fest week)
Bocce on Ice is a fun, winter-ready activity for all skill levels, and a great option for those who don’t ice skate. Instead of rolling bocce balls, players slide curling-style dysks toward a puck target (called the jack). Teams take turns aiming for the puck, scoring points based on how close they get. The first team to 12 points wins!
Learn more about renting a court or spectating off-ice or inside Market Hall at The Garden restaurant and bar* area – visit MetroparksToledo.com.
Experience the perfect blend of curling and bocce ball on the ice at The Ribbon.
March 6

Featured Artist, Violin
Sofia Gubaidulina: Fairy-Tale Poem
Jean Sibelius: Violin Concerto
Pyotr llyich Tchaikovsky: Symphony No. 6
8:00 p.m. – Concert
Celebrated Korean-Canadian conductor Earl Lee will lead the evenings’ concert. Maestro Lee is known for his dynamic leadership as Music Director of the Ann Arbor Symphony Orchestra, Assistant Conductor of the Boston Symphony Orchestra, and former Resident Conductor of the Toronto Symphony Orchestra, winning the prestigious Solti Award in 2022 and connecting audiences with both classical and contemporary works.
Additionally, Sibelius’ Violin Concerto occupies rare territory – technically demanding, deeply expressive, and long admired by audiences. Canadian Kerson Leong returns to pour his talent into this haunting and expansive work. Sofia Gubaidulina’s FairyTale Poem offers its own kind of magic: a whimsical wonderland full of strange colors and storybook tension. The program closes with Tchaikovsky’s Symphony No. 6, a deeply introspective
work spanning a range of emotions – from quiet melancholy to vibrant, almost frenetic intensity.
